MO: Apparent slang for Moustaches

VEMBER: Is the last 6 letters of November

I have highly anticipated the start of this years Movember, as it’s the time when there will be an influx of men donning moustaches. This is not some fad or craze that men do to keep their upper lip warm during November, instead it is all in aid of raising awareness of men’s health issues and prostate cancer. As I have a bit of a fetish for moustaches this is all very exciting, and the same way I would look out of the car window as a child spotting all the BMW’s that drove by, I will now be spotting men walking past me with fancy moustaches. Although a moustache does not sit well with every man, I think it would be intriguing to see how many men in London, if not the world support the charity Movember with their facial changes and maybe even with their cash.

And on that note there are a few fun ways that everybody can show support during Movember. So, whilst eating out last week at Byron Burger we spotted a sign saying free burgers everyday of November! Yes my eyes opened very wide and my stomach groaned very loud, and this was after I had eaten! So all you’ve got to do to get free burgers is to register at, raise at least £25 and then between 3-7pm everyday you can pop into your local Byron Burger and indulge in one of the most mouth-watering burgers in London town. Not very useful for me personally as I am on a detox after over indulging in burgers last week, and I’m almost never free between 3-7pm. But this is all in all a fantastic deal if detoxing is not an obsatcle in your mission to devour as many burgers as possible.

Another way to participate in Movember would be to attend the Movember Gala Partés which are being thrown around the country, as well as across many continents. London’s event is held at Battersea Evolution on the 25th November. There will be men in Mo’s, an award for the best Mo in character and a Man of Movember Prize. What more could you want from a Gala Parté? It should be a ball!

Here’s a few interesting people, with interesting moustaches. Enjoy.
